I Elvis Lovi was born and brought up in Nairobi. I grew up religious with parents who insisted that we regularly attend church. I lost interest in church at the age of 10 and two years later stopped attending saving special appearances for Easter and Christmas carol festivals.
In April 2008 while a student of Economics at the University of Nairobi. I gave my life to Christ. My wanderlust had taken me to Moshi Tanzania with a Christian Dance group who were preaching the Gospel in villages while running a kids dance program. I surrendered my life to Christ on our third night there while pondering on the Love of Christ that I had heard being shared so beautifully.6 months later while in a moment of prayer with a friend, God audibly called me to full time ministry and later confirmed his desire for me to serve him fulltime through a series of events and prophecies.
My ministry Journey has taken me from serving as a missions co-ordinater in SALT (a university of Nairobi students fellowship), to being a missionary in Mukuru kayaba, to serving as an intern and missionary in East Pokot at Mamlaka Hill Chapel, then as an associate pastor at New song Bible fellowship in South B to my current vocation as a pastor in the missions department at Mamlaka Hill Chapel.
I am privileged to be serving with my best friend and wife Mrs. Julie Lovi with whom we share a passion for people, prayer and outreach.
I count it a joy to serve as a Pastor and in the words of Phillip Brooks, in a world that has many good and happy things to do, God has given me the best and happiest and that is to be a preacher of his word. And for this I am grateful.
